I was honoured to be invited along to photograph a bird shoot at the military base of Thorney Island in Chichester on a very cold and frosty morning in December. Despite the freezing temperatures and the very strong urge to stay in bed at 06:30 (I had attended my work's Christmas do the previous evening!) I was so pleased to be there.
The island is fascinating with so much history - a very kind gentleman on the shoot gave me some interesting snippets of information during the day, and one curious thing I learnt was that the island has one of the only war time grave yards where both British and German troops have been laid to rest side by side!
This was such a special day and we were extremely lucky with the bright blue sky and December sunshine.
Snoopy & Dave were present as per usual (confined to the boot of the car for most of the day) - but Snoopy has scored an invite to join in next time from an expert gun dog trainer, so a Christmas miracle may well occur yet!
